Dancing star, Magda focus upon drum solo and performance skills for those wishing to take their dancing up a notch or two. Part of the class Magda will be answering any performance related questions. Monday 7, 14, 21 April Magdas class will be joined by Sydneys top Lebanese Legend tabla player Jamal Zreika focusing upon DRUM SOLO for STAGE. |

Traditional Dance with Live Music

A flavour of Turkey and Egypt, this series of five classes will focus on the spirited Turkish Rom and modern Egyptian saiidi. All five lessons will be accompanied by percussionist Michael and Friends. From her recent study trip to Cairo, Fifi will be teaching a saiidi choreography by Mohamed Kazafy. Kazafy is from he revered Reda Troupe for 20 years. He now travels the world teaching and performing as a soloist. Fifi was taught this, his favourite choreography, in a top floor studio on the banks of the Nile. Fifi will be breaking the dance down to teach the modern Cairo technique and will also show a video of Kazafy himself performing the piece. |
